Drink Tea

Drinking tea is one of the easiest ways to ease an upset stomach! Sipping on some ginger, chamomile, licorice or peppermint tea can help soothe and heal a stressed out tummy and halt stomach pain. Peppermint tea is also noted to help calm nausea and symptoms of PMS, so it’s a really helpful tea to have on hand!

2

Peppermints

I always keep peppermint candies or gum on hand in case I need to freshen my breath or soothe an upset stomach. Candies like Altoids or any kind of hard candy or gum with peppermint can help calm a stomach ache and aid in digestion. According the University of Maryland Medical Center, peppermint relaxes muscles in the stomach so it's a very helpful ingredient.

3

Ginger

Ginger is another useful ingredient when you’re trying to soothe your stomach. Ginger is well known to help nausea but it also has calming effects on stomach aches as well. Don’t worry, you don’t have to chew on fresh ginger root! Sip some ginger ale or tea or chew on some ginger candy or gum to get the soothing effect. If you choose to drink ginger ale, make sure it’s not super cold.

4

Clear Soup

If you can handle eating something, soothe your stomach with some clear broth-based soup like chicken or vegetable. Choose something light, clear and easily digestible so you won’t run the risk of further irritating your stomach. Both chicken and veggie broths are light and nutritious, so they can help relieve nausea and diarrhea.

5

Burnt Toast

If you’re at home or just happen to have access to bread and a toaster at work or school, try some dry, burnt toast. This is a very old remedy for upset stomachs but many people swear by it, so you know it works. According to Livestrong, eating burnt toast is said to soak up toxins in the stomach. If you don’t like the idea of eating burnt toast, dry toast should work just as well.

Rice

Rice is another good bland food that your upset stomach will likely be able to handle. Bland foods are good to eat when you’re dealing with an upset stomach because they’re easy to digest and they’ll help ease diarrhea by absorbing fluids in your digestive system. Overcooked rice is said to best ease diarrhea and nausea, but any rice will work.

7

Raw Honey

If you can get your hands on some honey, it’s one of the best tasting home remedies to soothe your stomach! Honey contains a variety of enzymes and acids that help in digestion and absorption. Take a spoonful of honey or have some with your herbal tea to ease nausea and diarrhea.
