7 Simple Ways to Improve Your Mental Clarity ...

By Heather

If brain fog has you down and mentally drained, you may need to consider some ways to improve your mental clarity. We all have busy lives, daily stresses, and issues in our lives that prevent us having top-notch focus. A cup of coffee or green tea might give you a boost initially but the effects of those options are short-lived. To have a clearer mind, you likely need more balance in your life. To achieve this, take a look at some ways to improve your mental clarity so you can be more successful, achieve your goals, and be happier.

1

Get out in Nature

One of the simplest ways to improve your mental clarity is to get out in nature. Go for a walk, even if it’s just for 20 minutes. Not only will it improve your mood, but may also help you deal with emotions and score your next greatest idea for the workplace.

2

Turn off the Noise

Driving with the radio on and being at home with the TV on aren’t bad things, but there’s one thing they lack: silence. Music may give your workout a boost but when it’s mental clarity you seek, turn off the noise. It will help give you a sense of calm and a stronger sense of focus too.

3

Take Breaks

If you sit at a desk all day, you’re doomed for mental clarity unless you take advantage of short breaks. Taking breaks throughout the day can help boost blood flow and it’s important so you don’t make mistakes in your work. You might also find during your breaks you’re able to think about a problem or task much better than when chained to a desk and a chair.

4

Hit the Gym

Working out boosts blood flow and is a great way to clear your head. Plus, weight lifting and cardio are great ways to improve your physical fitness, which may in turn boost your mental strength too.

5

Put Things in Perspective

When you’re stressed about something, it’s very hard to get a clear perspective on anything in life. Stress creates tunnel vision in a bad way where you only focus on the problem at hand. Instead of focusing on the problem, put things in perspective and think about the bigger picture.

Famous Quotes

To give oneself earnestly to the duties due to men, and, while respecting spiritual beings, to keep aloof from them, may be called wisdom.

Journal

Your brain is one busy place and a traffic jam can happen up there if you don’t have an outlet! Write things out in a journal whether it be schedules, goals, problems, or feelings. You’ll gain much more mental clarity than just sorting things out in your head.

7

Meditate

For those of you that don’t know, you don’t have to sit on a pillow with your eyes closed to meditate. You can meditate in your room just lying still, or in the shower in silence. Meditation is about blocking everything out and just “being” in the moment. Breathe in and out slowly and allow your mind to become clear and stable. When you do this, oxygen improves the blood flow to the brain which not only reduces blood pressure, but also helps you think more clearly.

If you have a way to improve mental clarity, I’d love to hear it! How do you block everything out and gain a better perspective?
