1

Drink More Water

It’s a simple fact of life that our bodies require water to function properly. It’s also a sad fact that coffee, sodas and alcohol do not hydrate your body well enough to replace the water in your diet, so you should stick to water. Adults should aim to drink at least two very large cups of water each day (it may be easier to build this up over a month period if you do not enjoy water) which will not only hydrate your body but will also help you to lose weight.

2

Eat Healthier

Sure, it can be easy to grab a bag of chips out of the cupboard rather than cut up an apple or peel and orange, but incorporating more beneficial foods such as fruits and vegetables into your regular diet truly can make you feel healthier. You are probably sick of the mantra 5 a day but you should get to the point where it just happens without you having to think about it. Try keeping a food diary for a couple of weeks to see just what your ratio of healthier v unhealthier foods you eat – you can then make any necessary adjustments to feel more healthy.

3

Eat Slowly!

Feeling healthier and eating healthier are great, but you also need to learn how to eat your food properly. Your whole day probably goes by in a flash and will require you to run around, but that doesn’t mean that you have to eat at the speed of a cheetah. Take your time and savor every forkful – you’ll stop overeating and end up losing weight and feeling a lot better in yourself.

4

Eat Your…purples!

Your mom may have bugged you to eat your greens when you were younger, but now scientists have found that eating purple and blue vegetables and fruits can help your health significantly. Purple cabbage, blueberries, plums and eggplant are very tasty and can help you along in the task of how to feel healthy.

5

Go Walking

Fresh air and exercise is the perfect coupling to help you feel more healthy. Even if you aren’t the sort of person who enjoys exercise, a brisk walk can help to improve your mood and aid with weight loss. Whether that means that you take the stairs rather than an elevator or park further away in a car park, there are so many ways to walk more during everyday life.

Mental Time-out

Stress is one of the main causes for feeling like a piece of trash. You need to find a way to de-stress and have some time to yourself. That could be by reading a book you enjoy, meditating or just having a nice cup of herbal tea.

7

Laugh!

Sometimes you just need to let it all out, and how better to do so than to laugh more! You’ll gain not just a physical but also an emotional release of tension, and you’ll find yourself more relax and generally feeling better. The task of how to feel more healthy doesn’t always have to include eating better or exercising more, it can be as simple as having a giggle with your friends!

When you’re next feeling sluggish, remember to take some of these tips and put them into practice. Some well-deserved time out can help to make yourself feel more healthy, and as long as you eat better you should find yourself feeling better in no time. We’ve all felt bogged down by the stresses of everyday life and as if we cannot lose those couple of extra pounds, but sometimes all that’s needed is a good book and a giggle. Please do leave a comment with some more Tips on How to Feel More Healthy, so that we can all share and learn from each other.
