The talk is all good when it comes to sushi, but many won't tell you of the chance of getting a parasite from it! Anything uncooked has the potential of having parasites in or on it. But the chances are greatly raised in raw meats and poultry. Raw fish can easily contain water parasites. If you're going to eat sushi, choose your location wisely. Avoid packaged, fast food sushi in a refrigerator. And always avoid eating sushi sitting on a buffet or at a restaurant that does not maintain the high values in cleanliness. If possible, go for sun baked sushi or vegetarian sushi.

Lice are indeed parasites, and contrary to popular belief, they prefer a nice, clean head of hair to the dirty one. The oil in a dirty head of hair makes it harder for lice to breathe. Therefore, they like it clean. The best home remedy for getting rid of lice is to soak your head in olive oil and let it set for a bit!

...Could be giving you face-to-mouth parasites! Just think about where that tongue has recently been! That's enough to make me sick, not to mention the parasites! Wash your hands after your dog or cat has licked your hands and especially before you prepare food after petting them! Allowing your pets to sleep by your head or on your pillow is just as bad and you are at just as much risk for a parasite!

I personally love being barefoot as I walk around outside. However, health wise, it isn't good. If you must walk around barefoot outside (I must!) choose areas that aren't frequented by dogs and cats and other animals. And as soon as you get inside, it's a good idea to wash your feet good!

People Actually Use Parasites for Weight Loss!

Who would be crazy enough to purposely place a worm inside their body to help them lose weight? There are crazy people like that! Supposedly, there is another pill that you take so long after ingesting the parasite that kills it and everything is fine, but there have actually been accounts of people dying from the parasites living within them. They multiply and multiply, and before you know it, you've been infested with little devils living off your body! Not something I intend on trying!

Again, I don't mean to scare anyone, but I do want people to be aware of the dangers of parasites that we encounter. Some are more dangerous than others. The most important thing to remember is that if you're feeling sickly for over a week or two, it's a good idea to see your doctor - an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
