1. Drink Only Water
I don’t know about you, but I waste a lot of calories on drinks. Between extra cream and sugar in my coffee, sodas at lunch, and sweet teas between meals, the amount of calories I’m drinking is insane. When I want to lose weight in a week I know the first thing I must do is drink only water.
2. Low Carb
Another thing that helps me lose a few pounds in a week is switching to a low carb diet. I try to avoid things like white bread, potatoes, rice and pasta. Instead I focus on vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins for the week.

3. Cardio
Of course to lose weight in a week I also have to up the cardio. I try to add an extra 30 minutes of cardio to my routine. You can do this by staying on the treadmill a little longer or going for an after dinner walk with the family or a friend. If you don’t already have a workout routine in place start with 30 minutes every day of cardio exercise like walking, dancing, swimming, or riding a bike.
4. Get More Sleep
Most of us don’t get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can really wreck your health and cause you to hang on to weight. Along with the other changes, go to bed a little earlier each night.
5. Plan Your Meals
Knowing what you are going to eat and having the food on hand helps you make the best choices at meal times or for snacks. Planning your meals keeps you away from the drive thru on the way home from work.

6. Increase Protein
Protein helps you feel fuller and fuels your body. Increase the amount of lean protein you eat at each meal to lose weight in a week. Try to include a source of protein in your snacks, not just along with your meals.
7. Cut 500 Calories in a Week
To lose weight in a week you need to burn more calories than you consume. One pound is equal to 3,500 calories. This means in order to lose one pound you need to burn or consume 500 calories less than normal in a week. By cutting your daily calorie intake by 500 calories you can expect to lose one pound in a week.
8. Don’t Skip Meals
If losing weight in a week is your goal, don’t mess it up by skipping meals. If you often skip breakfast or lunch you are setting yourself up for a late night food binge. Eating regularly throughout the day controls hunger and stops you from wanting to fill up at the end of the day.
I hope these tips have helped you figure out how to lose weight in one week. It all comes down to eating healthy and making sure you get plenty of exercise. Of course, to maintain your weight loss, you need to make these lifestyle choices last for longer than seven days. What are some ways you have used to lose weight in a week?
