Purine is found in high-protein foods like meats, poultry, seafood, beans and nuts. Your body doesn’t need purine and your kidneys break it down into uric acid. Too much uric acid can lead to hyperuricemia, gout, and kidney disease. While people with healthy kidneys should be fine following a Paleo diets, others with kidney problems may not. As always, it is best to discuss any diet and exercise changes with your doctor.
