1

Get Your Beauty Sleep

Rest is not just important for keeping you pretty, girls, but it's also one of the best ways to energize yourself without too much effort. No matter what you have going on, make rest a priority. You’ll feel better, look better, your appetite will be under control, your metabolism will spike, and you’ll be less stressed. You’ll feel like a new person and be more productive when you’ve had plenty of shut-eye under your belt. Set your alarm and go to bed already! Your energy levels are waiting on you!

2

Eat Enough Protein

Your energy levels depend on proper nutrition as much as rest, and protein deficiency can be a sure fire way to exhaust yourself quickly. We need a balance of protein, healthy carbs and healthy fats each day to stay nourished. Protein in particular contains amino acids that aid in metabolism functions that also keep your blood sugar stable and take some time to digest, keeping you fuller longer than carbs or fat. If you blood sugar rises and drops too much, you can become tired quickly, so protein is especially important if you have diabetes, hypoglycemia, or sugar cravings. Implement lean protein from fish, eggs, yogurt, organic soy milk, tofu, healthy protein powders, lean poultry, spirulina, and raw nuts and seeds.

3

Eat Leafy Greens

Most people don’t see greens as a good way to stay energized, but they are a wonderful source of magnesium, iron and chromium. Each of these minerals are important for your energy levels, your brain, mood, and for balancing your blood sugar. They are great for your nervous system, which keeps anxiety at bay. Include dark, leafy greens like spinach, kale, romaine, chard, collards, beet greens, cilantro and parsley for the best sources possible.

4

Stay Hydrated

Chronic dehydration is one of the worst ways to set yourself up for fatigue. To prevent this, be sure to stay hydrated by including water-rich foods in your diet, drinking plenty of water, avoiding energy drinks and other caffeine-rich beverages that flush water out of your body, and carrying a water bottle with you anytime you head outdoors.

5

Try Yoga

Yoga is a great way to keep a constant flow of energy running through your entire body. It is also great to beat stress, which helps keeps your energy levels at peak. Yoga allows your body to move in a gentle way that tones your body and also moves lymph fluids throughout your body. Lymph is important for keeping blood alkaline, preventing dehydration, removing toxins from the body and keeping you energized. Try some beginner yoga videos online, get a DVD, or take a class.

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

Lower Your Stress

I know this one can seem like a joke if you have a high stress job, stressful home life or just generally suffer from anxiety. This makes lowering stress more important than ever. Some of my favorite remedies are to meditate daily, eat regularly, include protein and fiber at each meal to keep my blood sugar even, and get plenty of rest. Each of these lower your stress levels dramatically. Supplements such as maca root, B vitamins, cacao, GABA, Omega 3s, magnesium and rhodiola are also excellent natural ways to lower your stress levels.

7

Exercise

If yoga isn’t your thing, make sure you exercise each and every day, or at least 5-6 times a week. Exercise is the best stress buster around, and a great way to spike your energy levels. Cardio is especially great for reducing stress since it works your heart, but be sure to cool down with relaxing stretches and implement weight lifting, which lowers stress levels and boosts your energy. Replenish afterwards with some healthy carbs and protein to keep your energy levels up as well.

8

Stay Regular

Yes, I’m talking about your bathroom business, ladies! We all know that staying regular keeps us energized. To do this the easy way without laxatives or harsh chemicals, include fiber rich veggies and fruits in your diet, high fiber and high protein grains like quinoa and oatmeal, no sugar added dried fruits, flaxseeds, chia seeds and hemp seeds, unsweetened shredded coconut, and stay hydrated. Other great remedies include adding psyllium husk powder to smoothies, taking a magnesium supplement before bed and consuming smoothies and juices whenever possible.

9

Drink Green Tea

If you love coffee but want to avoid the caffeine crash, drink green tea. While green tea contains caffeine, it contains much less than coffee, and green tea contains a stress-lowering amino acid known as L-theanine. L-theanine lowers stress levels, yet provides you with a balanced energy. Add a little stevia or lemon to add flavor if you need it and drink it hot or cold depending on how you like it the most.

10

Focus on the Positive

This tip may sound hokey to some of you, but staying positive can be a great way to energize your day. Focusing on the positive things in your life prevents stress and stress is a major energy buster. Remember, no matter how many bad things are going on, life is a gift and it does get better! Write down your blessings, go for a walk, and focus on the good things in your life right now. You can conquer anything with the right attitude!

Your energy levels are just a few steps away from reaching their peak with these helpful tips. Be sure to avoid energy drinks, alcohol, drugs, and stressful people and situations if at all possible, which are sure fire ways to drain your energy levels! What are your tips for staying energized each day?
