Sly Tricks for Keeping Your Period a Secret ...

Holly

You might feel like everyone can sense when it's your time of the month, but there are ways to keep your period a secret. No one has to know about it (not that it's a big deal if they do find out). Of course, you don't want a spot of blood to give your secret away. Here are a few simple ways to keep your period a secret from everybody else out there:

1

Wear Dark Jeans

During your time of the month, you should avoid wearing white pants--or anything light for that matter. It's better to wear darker colors so that even if you leak, it won't show. One of the best ways to keep your period a secret is to avoid certain wardrobe choices. Play it safe by wearing colors that will hide any potential blood stains.

2

Be Prepared

Even if your period isn't scheduled to arrive for another week, make sure you have pads or tampons with you. As long as you lug a pocketbook around, you should have no trouble keeping the necessary supplies on hand. You never know when your time of the month will come early, so be prepared.

3

Wear the Correct Products

There are tons of different brands of sanitary products. If the pads you're currently using aren't long or thick enough, then buy some that are bigger. You don't have to stick to one brand and never switch it up. Keep trying new products until you find the one that's right for you.

4

Buy Thicker Underwear

If you wear thicker underwear, they'll be a lower chance of blood leaking onto your pants for the world to see. You don't have to wear this type of underwear all year long. Save it for your period weeks and wear all of your cute underwear the rest of the time. You don't want to ruin your good ones anyway.

5

Don't Be Afraid to Ask

If you run out of pads and tampons, don't be afraid to ask a friend or even a random stranger in the woman's room if they have one to spare. Every girl deals with the same monthly problems, so they won't make fun of you. Most people are actually willing to help you out, so never be afraid to ask a fellow woman for a favor.

Wear Looser Clothes

If you're wearing pads, then looser clothes can make you feel more comfortable about the situation. They'll let you move around more freely, so you won't have to feel like you shouldn't be walking around. The tighter the clothes, the more uncomfortable you'll feel.

7

Be Confident

Unless you leak, no one will know you're on your period unless you tell them. You shouldn't walk around acting embarrassed because it's your time of the month. Keep your head held high, because periods are natural and there's nothing you can do to stop them. As long as you act like everything's normal, your day will go by in the same way that it always does.

Even if someone finds out about your period, you shouldn't worry about it. It's something that happens to every woman, so there's nothing to be ashamed of. Do you talk about your period openly with your friends or do you try to keep it a secret?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I believe this article is meant for teens. There's some young gals who would really appreciate this info. Maybe they don't feel good about talking to their moms. Remember, it's all very new and confusing at first!

@ Kitty and Kiara ~ so true!

There needs to be an article on how to prepare for your period

do i HAVE to tell her? unless she brings it up, i don’t want it to be awkward?

i have had my period for around a year and still haven’t bought up the guts to tell my mom :(

I keep extras in my purse of pads tampons liners just in case someone else runs out ran out while shopping thought I stopped my period had to buy new pants and underwear and didn't have my kind of pads with me

I appreciate this article because no woman wants everyone to know when she's no her period . But for you who comment about the irrelevance of this article , then go scream to it the world . Criticize it all you want until u c blood on the back of ur pants and everybody laughing at you . Be open minded .

I wish I knew this sooner. But why do guys say are you on your period just because your mad or angry.

I like to read something before I comment on it. That way I have an informed opinion. You should try it... And Janae, why bother commenting at all? You can barely form a coherent sentence!
