1. Be Prepared
Being prepared is one of the best ways to kickstart a healthy new year. This seems like a no-brainer, but you would be surprised at how much it can really make a difference. Putting in a little extra effort in planning for your goals and resolutions sets you up for success. The good news about this tip is that you could do this in a number of ways! It could be as simple as setting out your workout clothes and shoes the night before if your goal is to exercise more. For those of you who love lists and putting pen to paper, you could start a bullet journal and plan out all of your daily weekly and monthly activities. Or, if you want to take it a step further have a designated get-your-life-in-order day each week to take time for planning the rest of the week. No matter how you spin it, planning ahead leads to a less stressed and more prepared you this year!
2. Get Inspired
Inspiration can be a powerful and driving motivational force to get things done. In fact, staying inspired is probably one of the most important factors in reaching your goals. Setting aside some time each day (preferably first thing in the morning) to get inspired could be a major game changer when it comes to self-improvement. You can use this time to listen to motivational podcasts, read self-help books, watch videos of people you aspire to be like, etc. All that matters is that you are consistently making time to get inspired to take action on your own goals.

3. Be a Little Selfish
One of the main things that can hold us back is when we don't prioritize ourselves. It is always great to help others and to share ourselves with the people we enjoy being around. However, sometimes we must be honest with ourselves and know when enough is enough. Making sure that you have the time (and energy) to work on yourself is so, so important. So the next time someone asks you to do something that you know you don't have the time or energy for, be honest with yourself and your friend. They should be understanding, and you can feel less stressed!
4. Try Something New!
Learning a new skill can be rewarding in many ways! And it can help you unwind and put your mind at ease in your downtime. Whether it be learning an instrument or a new language, you can have fun and learn something that you will be able to carry with you for years to come! That sense of accomplishment that comes with learning a new skill is a great way to start the new year!
