1. Moles and Beauty Marks
One of the most simple health checks every woman should do regularly is a skin check. Lots of women have various moles and beauty marks all over their bodies, and it is important to get to know every single one of them in order to be able to tell if something has changed. If you have a mole that seems to have changed colour or shape, or a beauty mark that all of a sudden has started to itch or grow, then that could be an early sign of something serious, so make sure that you do regular checks to see if anything looks different.
2. Hair
When you were little your mother probably checked your hair for lice, but in your adulthood, it’s a good idea to check your hair for something else like premature thinning or bald patches. This can sometimes happen over a long period without you even noticing, so it’s good to stay on top of exactly how your hair looks and feels. If you do notice considerable thinning, it could be a sign of a medical issue.
3. Period Logging
Unless you are on the pill or another device that regulates your period, it’s a smart idea to keep a track of your menstrual dates. That way, you can tell if you are experiencing an unusually long cycle, or alternatively, if your periods have been occurring much more or less frequently than usual. Any drastic change in menstruation should always be brought up with your doctor.
4. Vagina
Ladies, you really need to get up close and personal with your own bits! Use your hands to check for anything that might feel different, and use a hand mirror to see if there are any visible changes to what you are used to. The more comfortable and aware you are with your own vagina, the quicker you will be able to notice something that could be wrong.
What you choose to wear while working out can have a significant impact on your comfort and performance. One essential item is the sports bra. Lack of proper support can lead to discomfort and muscle tissue damage. Choosing a good sports bra can help prevent these problems and ensure a great workout!
5. Urine
Many of us just go to toilet, wipe and flush without even taking a glance, but it’s important to take a peek at the colour and state of your urine to ensure that you are hydrated and healthy. Things like dark, cloudy or overly pungent urine can be signs of internal problems, so make sure that you keep track! You can check up online what the colour of your urine means.
Doing self-checks isn’t going to catch everything, but there’s a better chance when you carry out self-exams. But don’t forget to have a regular check up with your doctor too.
