1. Yoga
Yoga is one of the best things to do when you are burned out because it improves your body, mind, and soul. By bringing together your overworked body and mind, yoga is a one-stop solution to that overwhelming feeling of stress. When you are feeling burned out, roll out your yoga mat and dip in to some downward dogs to let go of your stresses and bring yourself down.
2. Nap
You might be thinking “duh” to this, but so many people overlook napping as a solution to burn out. They are overwhelmed with so much to do they think they don’t have time to nap. But the reality is, if you are running on empty, the best thing to do for yourself is take a nap and re-energize yourself. You will wake up feeling much better and will actually have the energy to get the rest of your work done.

3. Do Something for You
When you are overwhelmed with everything, it is important not to overlook your own needs. If you are constantly thinking about work or taking care of your family or whatever it may be that is stressing you out, you might be missing that you need some TLC. Take an hour or two out of your day and do something that makes you happy. Forget your troubles for a little bit and focus on the person that is most important, you.
4. Watch a Movie
There is nothing more enjoyable than getting lost in the lives of another person when you are burned out. I personally think watching a movie is one of the best things to do when you are burned out. You can forget about your own life for a couple of hours and enjoy the pure bliss of snuggling on the couch and living vicariously through these fictional characters.
5. Take a Bath
What better form of TLC is there than a bath? Light some candles, put on some relaxing music, and indulge yourself in the bath sent from heaven. Use this time to focus on recuperating yourself. Clear your mind and don’t even think about letting any worrisome thoughts in your head. And don’t forget the bubbles!

6. Make a Schedule
Being burned out can seem like your entire world is crashing and there is no escape. It is times like these when you need to stop and take a clear look at what you need to do. A schedule is the perfect way to do this. Plan out, day-by-day, hour-by-hour, what you need to do and when you need to do it. It will give you a detailed view of what exactly you are so stressed about. And it will give you the confidence that you will be able to get it all done.
7. Take a Step Back
Basically all these things lead up to saying, “take a step back” from it all. Of all of the things to do when you are burned out, this might be the most important. Take a step back and realize that things are not as bad as you think. Compose yourself and take a deep breath. You can deal with being burned out if you pull yourself together and take a new perspective on things.
