1. Older People Are More Prone to Snoring

This is a scientifically proven fact. As you get older, the muscles in your throat and tongue become looser over time, and vibrate easily. These vibrations you unwillingly produce cause snoring. Since you aren’t aware of your motions during the night, you breathe in and out and the movement of the roof of your mouth is widely known as snoring.

2. Common Sign of Sleep Apnea

Of course, not all people who snore have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a serious medical condition that causes your breathing to stop and continue after some time. As its name suggests, it happens only while you’re asleep. It can be a pretty scary experience for someone who deals with it for the first time.

3. Constricted Airways

This is probably one of the main causes of snoring. The best advice is to change your sleeping position. Sleeping on the side can decrease the possibility of snoring, because it reduces the compression of your airways. Snoring is loud due to the fact that your body tries very hard to breathe and free the airways.

4. Alcohol is Not Your Friend

Maybe you’ve experienced it yourself. You’ve had a glass or two during dinner, and when you doze off, your husband or wife wakes you up because he or she can’t sleep. Alcohol isn’t a stimulant - it relaxes your muscles and slows down your body. This happens to your throat muscles, too. They are relaxed, so forcefully inhaling air is making them move up and down and creating vibration. By limiting alcohol intake, you help your body deal with snoring more efficiently.

What you choose to wear while working out can have a significant impact on your comfort and performance. One essential item is the sports bra. Lack of proper support can lead to discomfort and muscle tissue damage. Choosing a good sports bra can help prevent these problems and ensure a great workout!

5. Health Hazard

There are a few health risks of snoring. It can take a toll on your heart, body weight and mental health. During sleep, the cells in your body recover and your body creates new ones to boost up your immune system. Snoring means that your body isn’t getting enough oxygen, which means the heart rate goes up, and you feel fatigued and stressed out when you wake up.

6. Relationship Killer

It comes as a no surprise that both partners end up angry or frustrated if they can’t sleep. You feel guilty or ashamed, and your partner feels unhappy and isolated. Unfortunately, it can be the cause of many fights, so if you can’t prevent it from happening, you can try to control it. If you want to stop snoring, you should talk to your primary care doctor, but also try to stay away from alcohol, change your sleeping position and make some dietary changes.

Snoring can’t actually be cured, but you can control it if you’re responsible towards yourself and others. It can cause sleep deprivation, depression and even make you think that something is wrong with you. Our advice is to sleep on your side, lose weight and control the amount of alcohol you put in your body. How did you deal with this problem?
