1. Warm Lemon Water
One of the best ways to improve your health is to start sipping warm lemon water every single morning. The combination of the warm temperature and the lemons are great for stimulating your digestive system and liver at the start of the day. Lemons help detoxify your body, ridding it of any harmful waste that might be trapped within. Sip on a glass of warm lemon water before you put anything else in your body and you will be well on the road to good health!
2. Green Smoothie
Whether or not you have jumped on the green smoothie wagon, there's no denying that most of us could use an extra dose of green! Fruits and vegetables used to make green smoothies, like kale, spinach, carrots, apples, bananas, berries, etc., are all very high in disease fighting antioxidants and phytochemicals which will drastically improve your health over time. If you are not yet a fan of the green smoothie craze, start small. Use mild fruits and vegetables like spinach, bananas, and mangoes, and if it wasn't for the dull green appearance, you won't even realize that you are drinking your greens!
Frequently asked questions
3. Cinnamon
Cinnamon is one of my favorite spices to add to just about everything because of the ample health benefits that it provides. Cinnamon has been shown to help regulate your blood sugar, leaving you with a steady stream of energy rather than the peaks and valleys. Try cinnamon in your smoothies, oats, potatoes and even veggies for a stable blood stream all day long.
4. Fiber Rich Snack
The afternoon snack can really make or break your healthy eating goals. Fill up on chips, sweets and soda, and you will be tired and hungry all afternoon. Instead, reach for a fiber rich snack like unsalted nuts, fruit, veggies and hummus. These high fiber snacks will be digested much slower, resulting in a steady stream of energy leading all the way up to the dinner hour.
5. Green Tea
Green tea is a beverage we should all be drinking more of for good health. High in antioxidants and phytochemicals that prevent cancer and diseases, green tea should be your drink of choice all day long. It is much lower in caffeine than coffee, making it a safe bet when it comes to being able to sleep at night. Enjoy it iced or hot with a squeeze of lemon to enhance its disease fighting components.

6. Salad before Dinner
Another way to sneak in those healthy greens is by starting each dinner with a salad. This way, you fill up on the foods that provide you with life and good health and enter dinner feeling satisfied and not overly hungry. This is a good tip to use at restaurants too - instead of filling up on processed white rolls, give a salad a try! The more greens, the better!
7. Chamomile Tea
This is a habit that was quite easy for me to pick up! Chamomile tea is an herbal tea that I like to sip on every night before bed. Chamomile is known to help improve your sleep, leaving you feeling well rested the following day. Not only that but it can help with inflammation and immune protection too! Start your day with lemon water, sip on green tea throughout the day and end your evening with a warm cup of chamomile for a healthy body inside out!
Although these tips might seem simple, putting them into action is often the hardest part. Make a few small, healthy changes each and everyday, and soon, you will be feeling healthier, more alive and better able to face the challenges of each day! What are some of the healthy things that you do each day to improve your health? Have you ever tried any of these?
