1. Don’t Skip Class
While being sick in college is a great excuse to skip class, you will regret skipping class once you are healthy and back on your study grind. It will be an effort to get out of bed and stay focused, but being sick in college is the easiest way to fall behind on your classes. Try and motivate yourself to get to class and stay on top of your work. Just keep washing your hands and bring tissues so you don’t spread germs and get others sick.
2. But Get Your Rest
That being said, you have to get your rest. When you are healthy, it is fine to run around and stay up all night doing work. That lifestyle will not fly when you’re sick. You can go to class and put in sme study time, but you have to make sure you are getting a lot of rest. Get more than enough sleep and take naps if you need to.

This does not mean go out and party with your besties, this means stay hydrated! Drink one glass of water at least every other hour you are awake. It will not only help you get better faster, it will get you in the habit of drinking tons of water even when you aren’t sick. 4. Take Advantage of School Resources
Most colleges have their own health center on campus. Take advantage of that health center and stop by to get a professional diagnosis and a prescription for medication to get you feeling better, faster. You may not have your parents around to take you to the doctor, so be a responsible young adult and take yourself to the health center.
5. Email Your Professors
It may be hard to keep up with your studying and you don’t want to fall behind on your studies so email your professors and let them know you might be missing class or will need notes. Not all professors will care that you are sick, but you might as well cover your bases.

If you are sneezing and coughing up a storm, the last thing you want to do is drag your butt to the library to study. You may think that your two options are to study all day or to skip studying at all, but you can break up your studying to refresh your mind and allow yourself to rest. Read a chapter, write a paragraph, or study a lecture, and then give yourself a break. It will allow you to stay on top of work while not working yourself into being even sicker.
7. Create a Sick Kit
This is someway to deal with being sick in college before you even get sick. Create a “sick kit” to get you through those rough cold weeks and you will get better that much faster. Include things like Dayquil and Nyquil, some tissues, Advil for a headache and some Vitamin C in whatever form you prefer. They won’t necessarily cure your sickness, but it will make it a lot easier to deal with.
