7 Raw Juices to Try This Fall to Reboot Your System and Help You Feel Brand New ...

Juicing has been a popular trend for years on end now, with tons of raw juices on the market and raw juice recipes to make at home. Though juice fasting is an effective diet method, I don’t recommend it if you suffer from hypoglycemia, or if you’re looking for long term weight loss. Instead, I think juicing should be added into a normal healthy eating plan, instead of supplemented for meals. That being said, I do highly believe in the benefits of juicing, and have experienced them firsthand myself. Fall and spring are the two best times to reboot the body with freshly made raw vegetable juices. Why so? We tend to eat heavier in the summer through cookouts, ice cream outings, and in the winter we tend to eat heavier comfort foods when we’ve been indoors most of the year. This makes spring and fall the best times to implement juice as a natural energizing and cleansing enhancement to a healthy eating and exercise plan. In Ayurvedic medicine, it is also said spring and summer are the body’s rejuvenation seasons and juicing is a great way to enhance this natural process. Try these fabulous raw juices from the website Reboot With Joe, which is a website dedicated to juicing by the famous Joe Cross, author of the book “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead.” His story is remarkable since he cured himself from being overweight and ill, all through juicing. You can read more about him in the sources section of this article, but for now, pull out your juicers or blenders and make these raw juices!

Rockin Melon Roll

Rockin Melon Roll Melons are great to cleanse the system and a great source of low sugar fruits if you’re sensitive to fruits high in sugar. Blood Orange Juice

Blood Orange Juice One of my favorite types of juice to make is juice with beets and blood oranges. These rich, red colored oranges are a great source of Vitamin C and beets are rich in antioxidants that aid in oxygen production and flow to the brain and muscles. Beets also help to detox your liver and aid in natural cleansing. Oh, and who can forget carrots? They are naturally sweet to aid in sugar cravings, while still providing tons of magnesium, Vitamin A for clear skin and Vitamin C as well. Drink this juice anytime you need an energy boost or need to get in a little extra immunity power!

Ingredients:
4 blood oranges
1 beet (beetroot)
2 carrots

Directions:
Peel blood oranges and beets.

Rinse the carrot and beets.

Add all produce through juicer and enjoy!

Substitutions:
Blood orange – orange, mandarin, ruby grapefruit

Beet – red cabbage, golden beets

Carrot – sweet potato, winter squash, pumpkin

Bye Bye Blues Juice

Bye Bye Blues Juice Oh, don’t we all just love blueberries, or is that just me? Blueberries are rich in antioxidants that are great for your entire body. They are also full of Vitamin C and properties that may aid in weight loss. Along with being great for your heart, blueberries also aid in reducing stomach inflammation that can occur from physical or emotional stress, which makes this juice so beneficial. Jicama is a veggie that is wonderfully low on the glycemic index, and rich in Vitamin C. Cucumbers add a nice cleansing source of potassium, while lime adds a zesty touch to the sweetness of the fiber-rich pears in this juice.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup/600 g blueberries
1/2 jicama
1/2 – 1 cucumber
1 lime
1 pears

Directions:
Peel the lime.

Cut all items small enough to fit in juicer chute.

Juice everything and enjoy!

Substitutions:
Blueberries – any type of berry

Jicama – beetroot or ginger

Cucumber – parsley or zucchini

Lime – lemon or orange

Pear – apple

I promise after you savor this elixir and the way it makes you feel, you’ll change your mind about the vibrant green hue if you're hesitant at first. Splash of Sun

Splash of Sun Just because summer is over doesn’t mean you can’t keep a little sunshine juice in your life! This juice is perfect for fall because it reminds me of all the wonderful fall colors that come alive at the peak of the season. It also brings your body to new life with digestive enhancing ginger, nutrient rich carrots, and Vitamin C rich oranges, which are all available at their peak in the fall season. This juice is great for reducing inflammation, giving you a boost of energy and giving your skin a dose of sunshine as well. Plus, just look at that gorgeous color! You’re sure to feel prettier just drinking it!

Ingredients:
3 large carrots
2 oranges
1 large slice ginger root

Directions:
Wash carrots and peel oranges.

Slice ginger.

Add all ingredients through the juicer.

Pour over ice (optional)

Substitutions: none

If you don’t have a juicer, feel free to use your blender, though the effect won’t be as great as if you use a juicer. You’ll need to add about ½-1 cup water with the ingredients into your blender, blend on high, and strain through a sieve or nut milk bag to release the juice. You can keep the pulp for use in other recipes to bake with, or discard it. Do you juice all year, in the spring and fall, or not at all? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the juice craze trend. Let me hear what you think!
