It may seem like sleeping the day away is the only way to relieve stress, but in reality, there are several ways to beat stress! They are quite simple and you can do them on the daily basis too, just like sleeping. Below are ten easy ways to beat stress in your daily life and have fun doing it too!

1 Smile

Smiling is one of the easiest ways to beat stress! It’s proven that smiling just puts you in a better mood. Go grab a cup of coffee with some friends – that’ll surely put a smile on your face and not break your budget! (:

2 Get a Hug from Someone

Sometimes, a hug can go a far way in making you feel better. Whether it’s your friend, family member or your man that decides to give you a loving embrace, it’s reassuring to know that you have someone to lean on and someone who cares for you.

3 Vent about It

In some cases, you may need to talk about it. Grab a friend who is willing to listen. It’s more important that they’re willing to listen, compared to giving advice. Advice may be needed, but the main idea here is to be able to vent about how you feel and what’s bothering you.

4 Remember You Can Only Control Certain Things

Sometimes the situation is out of your control. You can’t control other people; you can only control yourself. Take a step back and relax. There’s no need to stress about it if there’s nothing you can do. You’re causing yourself unneeded stress. Back away.

5 Go outside

Whether it is a relaxing walk or playing some basketball on the court, the key here is to get outside. The fresh air will do you good. Plus, it’ll give you some time to think things out on your own terms.

6 Dance

Not only will you get your daily cardio, but movement helps release stress! Any kind of exercise works, but in my opinion, dancing is more fun than running on a treadmill!

7 Breathe

Take a step back and breathe! This is so important. Don’t rush into things, especially if your emotions are controlling your decisions. If you don’t, you can make the situation worse and cause more stress for yourself.

8 Remember the Good Ol’ Times

Remembering that there were less stressful times in your life cheers you up quite quickly! Remember that this too shall pass. Keeping a positive outlook on life is a major step in the right direction!

9 Look for the Good Things in Life’s Challenges

Try to see what good can come out of this challenge you are facing. Will you be a stronger woman? What did you learn now that you didn’t know before? There’s always a lesson to be learned!

10 Get More Sleep

Try to go to bed earlier. The more sleep you get, the less stress you’ll have. Not only will you be rejuvenated the next day, but sleep is where all that stress melts away and you don’t worry about a thing! (Just don't sleep the whole day away!)
