Low in Saturated Fat

Saturated fat is something we really want to avoid in our diets and one of the great reasons to use hemp milk is that it's low in saturated fat. It's also easy to digest and cholesterol free, which makes it a super healthy alternative to dairy.

2

Omega Rich

Omega 3 and 6 are essential fatty acids that we need to get from our food as the body cannot produce it. The fabulous thing about hemp seed is that it's naturally rich in omega 3 and 6, and just one serving will provide you with around 50% of the recommended daily intake of omega 3.

3

Fast Growth

Hemp grows super fast and is actually one of the fastest growing planets on earth. It also captures a lot of CO2 and doesn't need pesticides, meaning it's great for both you and the environment.

4

No Waste

Hemp is one of the oldest crops to be grown in the world and there is a reason for that. It's great for the soil and every part of the plant can be used. Apart from the seed, which can be used as a healthy and nutritious food source, the stalks can be used as eco friendly building materials, which lock CO2.

5

Health Benefits

Hemp is nutrient rich and is a great source of potassium, calcium, zinc, iron, magnesium, folic acid as well as vitamins D, A and B12. There are so many health benefits hidden in this diminutive morsel. It has anti-inflammatory agents to help improve circulation. It can help keep your hair strong and healthy. It can also strengthen your immune system. And let's not forget the fact that it gives you clear and glowing skin, along with healthy hair and nails. It's also reported to increase mental capacity!

Easy to Make

Hemp milk is actually quite easy to make if you have the time. Just take 1/2 a cup of raw, organic, shelled hemp seeds and 2 cups of purified water. You will also need a piece of cheesecloth or a nut-milk bag. First, blend the water and hemp seeds in a blender for about 3 minutes and then strain the milk through the cheesecloth. Chill overnight then enjoy! This delicious drink can be kept in the fridge for around 3 days.

7

Delicious Taste

I have tried many dairy alternatives, like soya, rice, oat and almond milk and whilst they're all very palatable, hemp milk is my favorite as it has a nutty and creamy flavour. It's perfect in cooking, smoothies, tea, coffee, cereals, you name it, there's nothing hemp won't complement.

As you can see, I'm a big fan of the hemp plant and all it has to offer. Is anyone else a fan of this dairy free alternative to milk?
