1. Drink Water Upside down

No, you don't have to do a headstand in order for this to work. All you have to do is get a glass of water, and bend over while you're drinking it. If you sip from the opposite side of the glass as usual, you shouldn't spill it all over yourself. By the time you take a few gulps and stand up straight again, those hiccups should be gone.

2. Have Someone Scare You

You've heard of this one before, and that's because it actually works. Of course, it's hard to scare yourself. If your friends don't take it upon themselves to surprise you, then you could watch a Youtube video that you know contains a few jump scares. That way, you'll end up getting frightened into losing your hiccups.

3. Hold Your Breath

You don't want to hold your breath for so long that you pass out. However, it can help to hold your breath for as long as you can. Why? Because hiccups are really just diaphragm spasms. So if you hold your breath a few times, it could eventually stop those spasms. Of course, different things work for different people.

4. Put a Pinch of Sugar under Your Tongue

Put a Pinch of Sugar under Your Tongue You always have sugar in the house. That's why you shouldn't have a problem pouring a little bit of it beneath your tongue. It should do the trick. If it doesn't end up working, or if you can't find any sugar, then you can grab some honey and dab that on your tongue instead.

What you choose to wear while working out can have a significant impact on your comfort and performance. One essential item is the sports bra. Lack of proper support can lead to discomfort and muscle tissue damage. Choosing a good sports bra can help prevent these problems and ensure a great workout!

5. Gargle with Ice Water

Gargle with Ice Water If you have access to ice cubes, then you should grab a glass of water to make it as cold as possible. Once you do, place the water in your mouth without swallowing. Instead, you should gargle with it. Just make sure you're close by a sink in case you need to spit it all out.

6. Suck on a Lemon Slice

Suck on a Lemon Slice The strong taste of a lemon can actually shock you into getting rid of your own hiccups. That's why you should take a slice of it and start sucking on the juices. Licking it might not be enough, so don't take any half measures. Go all the way, even if you know you're going to hate the taste. It's better to have a lemony taste stuck in your mouth than to have the hiccups, don't you think?

7. Take 10 Quick Sips from a Glass

Take 10 Quick Sips from a Glass Here's another trick that involves water. This time, all you have to do is sip it. Just don't take big, long gulps. You should take short, quick little sips. Try to take at least ten of them at a time, and it should get rid of those pesky hiccups.

You don't want to spend the whole day hiccuping. That's why these pieces of advice will come in handy in the future. What other hiccup cures have you used in the past that actually seem to work?

@Tiffany that's really interesting, I'll try that next time I have hiccups.

I once had hiccups for 3 hours. It was mighty painful.

Hold your nose and drink a long gulp of water or thinking of the color blue.

I could have used this the other day lol

Eating a spoonful of peanut butter has been proven to work too.
