Jennapher- the "it'll hurt" thing is usually due to the fact that women are nervous about it. Society has made it a sacred thing that you are ashamed to "lose" at the same time excited. But a lot of the painful experiences are from being to nervous and not being turned on enough, or if you don't get wet enough, not enough lube. Friction is a thing during sex that you do not want, so the more lube the better. A lot of first timers also don't do enough foreplay, and therefore again not turned on enough so you don't open as much and have less natural lube. His penis CAN be too big that it hurts. It'll always fit, but it can hurt. A lot of pornstars with big penis' turn pornstars because they couldn't get laid any other way.

Your hymen should tear, it should stretch. If you use lube and go slow, it'll make it a more comfortable experience for you.

Great post, Holly! No BS...why is it that guys don't seem to worry about experience like this? Umm, they were/are virgins too, right? And can we finally dispense with the myth that it will be "painful" and that you will "bleed"? If a guy has taken the time to learn a little but about female sexuality, he should know that he needs to take his time, no matter what his penis may be screaming. If he takes his time, or maybe even invests in a lubricant, the adds are all over TV, there is no reason for losing your virginity to be painful. And why does "the first time" have to be imbued with such mythology? For a man, it's like, the sooner the better. For a girl, it "should be special." Heck yeah! It should be enjoyable and fun, isn't that special too? And gee, you may just like sex so much, you'll want to do it some more, and we know how dangerous that can be! What's really ironic, Holly, is you post this very helpful, practical information at a time when some politicians want to de-fund Planned Parenthood, a place where any girl can go to get this same information, delivered without either encouragement or discouragement. And, most importantly, find out about protection!! A girl who carries a condom in her clutch isn't a slut, she's just smart!

You should wait until you get married so there are no mistakes that will leave you regretting what you did that's why it's not good because you might find yourself afterwards sleeping with to many people there is a reason why you are still a virgin think about it
