1. Get the Right Tools for the Trade
There’s no doubt that certain spots on your body are going to be impossible to massage on your own. Not so if you have the right tools. Get yourself a roller for your back and a tennis ball for your feet and you should be well on your way to blissful relaxation in no time at all. You can find these cool self-massage tools at many department stores at totally affordable prices.
2. Push Upward when You Massage Your Scalp
A scalp massage is truly a wonderful thing and being on your own doesn’t mean you can’t get one. Use your fingers and gently press your scalp in an upward motion all over. Hold each position for a couple of seconds to really get the blood flowing. Start at the front of your scalp and work your way toward the back.
3. Use Gentle Motions when You Massage Your Face
You don’t want to be too rough on the skin covering your face because it is very delicate and being too hard on it can lead to wrinkles and fine lines. A face massage is great for enhancing your natural glow and giving you’re a lovely youthful appearance. A face massage every few days is a great idea, but do so with caution.
4. A Hand Massage Can Counteract the Day’s Trouble
Spent a crazy day typing up work reports or furiously texting with your teenager? Then I bet your hands are feeling the effects now. A hand massage can relieve some of that tension and ease your stress levels. Place one hand, palm up on your thigh, then use the other hand to gently massage your hand and forearm. You’re going to love how it feels!
What you choose to wear while working out can have a significant impact on your comfort and performance. One essential item is the sports bra. Lack of proper support can lead to discomfort and muscle tissue damage. Choosing a good sports bra can help prevent these problems and ensure a great workout!
5. Press and Hold on Your Neck and Shoulders
In some places on your body, a constantly moving massage is a great bet. However, when you massage your large muscle groups, pressing and holding can warm up your muscles and soothe away the tension. This is especially true for your shoulders and neck. Use your fingers to massage these areas. For places that are hard to reach, use a self-massager tool.

6. Use a Tennis Ball to Massage Your Aching Feet
Nothing makes a day worse than having to spend it on your feet. Now you’re home and you’re dogs are barking. Even if you’re home alone and can’t afford a massage, you can get those feet relaxed and feeling great once again. Place a tennis ball on the ground and then roll each foot over the ball, pressing down as needed to loosen your muscles and reach a zen state. A golf ball also works if you don’t have a tennis ball.
7. A Calf Massage Will Be Your New Favorite Thing
Spent the night on a fab pair of stilettos? Do you wait tables or tend bar? Then chances are that you probably have tight calves at the end of your shift. You don’t have to suffer anymore. Use your fingers or a foam roller to massage your calf and hamstring muscles to loosen you up and make you feel great all over again.
