7 Great Natural Remedies for Menstrual Pain Relief ...

I’m always searching for natural remedies for menstrual pain instead of using harsh medications that could have negative effects on my body. I hate having to be huddled over in pain, craving chocolate, and lashing out at my boyfriend over little things, but I won’t sacrifice the rest of my body’s health either! Fortunately, browsing through certain natural health care pages and drawing on a few remedies passed down in my family have led me to some of the best natural remedies for menstrual pain there are; check these out!

1 Supplements and Vitamins

If you want to get rid of that horrid pain in a safe way, you have to take of your body first! Making sure that your iron levels, A, B, C, D and E vitamins, thiamine, and calcium etc. are in check is a great way to help reduce menstrual related pain. Try taking a multivitamin! The more consistent you are with taking the pills, the more likely it will make a drastic change in your pain relief. It’s definitely one of my best natural remedies for menstrual pain out there.

2 Exercise

I admit, I don’t always want to run to gym to get my workout on during my period. I feel too tired or groggy. But, surprisingly, exercising can relieve those symptoms and the endorphins will make you feel tons better. Exercising gets the blood in your body circulating and helps reduce cramping! So break a sweat and get rid of that pain, ladies!

What you choose to wear while working out can have a significant impact on your comfort and performance. One essential item is the sports bra. Lack of proper support can lead to discomfort and muscle tissue damage. Choosing a good sports bra can help prevent these problems and ensure a great workout!

3 Heating Pad

Doesn’t a warm heating pad on your tummy sound so soothing? Good, because that’s exactly what it’s supposed to do! It helps ease the tension in your muscles and lessen any pain you’re feeling. Studies say it’s just as effective as other mild pain relief medication!

4 Sex

I know it doesn’t sound appealing, but it could do wonders for the pain you’re feeling! When you orgasm it releases oxytocin, which is what causes uterine contractions. Those contractions help to relieve pain! So, if you’re up to it, go for a romp in the bedroom!

5 Change Your Diet

If your diet consists of junk food, carbs and sweets, you may want to consider other alternatives. Your diet is a way of maintaining your body and feeding it the nutrients it needs to function properly. If you eat nutrient-dense, organic, whole, foods, you have a better chance of having less painful cramps. It can even give you a lighter flow and lessen PMS symptoms. So eat right, and you’ll feel right!

6 Yoga & Massages

When you engage in activities that soothe, calm and relax the body, you’ll be much more at ease. It helps to relieve tension in the bod, which helps to relax the muscles. Not to mention, Yoga and massages feel great, and make you feel at peace too!

7 Maca

Maca is a root found in Peru that is rich in nutrients like calcium, magnesium, B vitamins and vitamin C, among others. It even has some protein, minerals and fiber in there as well. It helps to relieve tension in the muscles by balancing the hormones. The potassium in it helps reduce pain as well. So add this wonderful vegetable into your diet! You can find it at your local health food store.

Having menstrual related pain is one of the worst kinds of pain in my opinion. It stops you from enjoying your day and leaves you unable to take care of the things you need to. These natural remedies for menstrual pain that I have listed should help you get rid of that crummy feeling, and you can finally get on with your life! Are there any natural remedies you suggest or use for menstrual pain relief?

Some people have sex when on their period? Isn't it gross though? I usually take that week off from that stuff

My cramps are so horrible and nothing relieves them. I've tried everything and only a heating pad does any bit of good. :(

i don't know about the sex being a remedy because what IF your partner accidentally releases it inside?? then you're pregnant? so i don't think sex is a good idea
