1. Cervical Cancer

Did you know that cervical cancer is the number one cancer for women between the ages of 30 and 40? This is why going in for your yearly well woman check-up is imperative. Yearly pelvic exams and pap smears check for cervical abnormalities. Early detection greatly increases your chances against cervical cancer.

2. Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes is a health risk for 30 year olds. Nearly 20 percent of men and women over the age of 30 have type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is a serious disease that causes many health complications. Your best defense against type 2 diabetes is to maintain a healthy weight, eat right, and get at least 30 minutes of daily activity.

3. Testicular Cancer

Testicular cancer is a health concern for men in their 30s. It accounts for 15 percent of cancer in men between the ages of 30 and 40. Make sure the men in your life go in for annual testicular exams with their doctors. As with cervical cancer, early detection increases the chances against testicular cancer.

3. Melanoma

Men and women in their 30s are still at an elevated risk for melanoma. Skin cancer is serious business. To detect melanoma you need to watch the appearances of moles and other marks on your body. If you notice changes, report them to your doctor immediately. Yearly checkups with a dermatologist are also suggested.

What you choose to wear while working out can have a significant impact on your comfort and performance. One essential item is the sports bra. Lack of proper support can lead to discomfort and muscle tissue damage. Choosing a good sports bra can help prevent these problems and ensure a great workout!

4. Colon Cancer

Another health risk for 30 year old men is colon cancer. Colon cancer is most curable during early detection, before symptoms have developed. Encourage the men in your life to ask their doctors about screenings for colon cancer and how they can reduce their risk.

5. Breast Cancer

Of course, we women already know about the risk of breast cancer. Women in their 30s are at a high risk for breast cancer. That risk increases if there is a family history of breast cancer under the age of 40. As with other cancers, breast cancers is most curable with early detection, so give yourself monthly breast exams and follow up with your doctor if you notice any changes or have concerns.

6. Heart Disease

Heart disease is the number one killer of men over the age of 35 and the number one killer of women overall. What does this mean? It means taking care of your heart at any age is important. Have your blood pressure checked regularly and be sure to get cholesterol checked every 5 years. Make healthy lifestyle choices to improve your heart health.

7. Obesity

Did you know that nearly 30 percent of Americans in their 30s are obese? It’s no wonder there are so many serious health risks for 30 year olds. If you are in your 30s and struggle with weight, you are not alone. To greatly decrease your chances of many health risks, including obesity, try to follow a healthy diet and stay active. A weight loss of just 15 percent greatly improves your risk.
