Yacon syrup is also not recommended for those who are allergic to sunflower seeds because yacon is a relative of the plant and as previously mentioned, anyone who frequently experiences loose stools are advised to avoid it. If you decide to give yacon a try, make sure you start slow to avoid any potential side effects from the high FOS content which include bloating, abdominal discomfort and nausea.
