7 Exercises to Tone Your Calf Muscles ...

Whether you are a lady who wants well toned calves to look impressive in skirts or whether you are a gentleman who wants well toned calves to impress the ladies, you need to know that toning your calf muscles is not a difficult task. As long as you are regular in your calf toning exercises, you should be able to get great looking calves in no time. Here are some very easy exercises to tone your calf muscles.

1 The Toe Raise

This is one of the simplest exercises to tone your calf muscles. Just stand straight with weights in your hands with feet at hip width. Raise up on the balls of your feet. Get back to starting position and repeat.

2 Forward Bent Lunge

Hold weights in both hands and bend your arms at the elbows so that the weights are at your shoulders. Take a step forward while bending at the waist. Return to original position, switch and repeat.

3 Seated Toe Raise

This is another one of the simple exercises to tone your calf muscles. Sit at a calf strengthening machine, placing the weight pads on your knees. Left your heels off the floor and keep them in air for a few seconds. Return to starting position and repeat.

4 Single Toe Raise

Stand with feet at hip width and weights in both hands. Bend your right knee so that only the toes of your right foot touch the floor. Now lift up the ball of your left foot. Return to starting position, switch and repeat.

5 The Step down

Stand on a step with feet at hip width and weights in both hands. Step down forwards, leading with the right foot. Step up backwards, leading with the right foot. Switch and repeat. This one has simple got to be one of the simplest exercises to tone your calf muscles.

6 The Step up

Hold weights in both hands. Put your right foot on the step. Shift weight on the right knee and step up slowly. Using the left leg, step back slowly into starting position. Switch and repeat.

7 Sled Toe Raise

Lie down on the sled machine with the balls of your feet resting on the toe bar of the machine. You should be able to feel the weight of your body on your feet. Push upwards with the toes of your feet, so that your body moves upwards on the sled machine. Return to original position and repeat.

As you can see, most of the exercises to tone your calf muscles are extremely simple and practically effortless. Just because they seem easy-to-do does not mean that they are not effective. These exercises will strengthen your calf muscles as well as tone them. Only two of these exercises need machines. These machines are available at most gyms and fitness centers, but even if you don’t have access to them, don’t lose heart. Just do the other exercises regularly and you will see results.
