7 Snacks I've Vowed Never to Touch in 2011 ...

Every time a new year rolls around, millions of people decide that this is the year to lose weight. Statistics show that it is the most popular new-year resolution however only 12% are kept. If you want to be in this 12% bracket than you need to give up the following snacks in order to lose weight.

1 Potato Chips

How many times have you found yourself sitting in front of the television with a packet of potato chips on your lap, crumbs on your shirt, watching some inane sitcom that you don’t really enjoy? Enough with that lifestyle! Clean out your kitchen cabinets and get rid of these unhealthy snacks. Have an apple if you’re hungry but no more potato chips!

2 Fast Food Burgers

It’s everyone’s secret pleasure; stopping by Burger King and ordering a delectable juicy burger. We guiltily pick it up at the drive through so that no one has to see us doing it. Stop for a second and consider how many hundreds of calories you are consuming with that single greasy burger. Call it a day and head home.

3 French Fries

Just like burgers, French fries are a big temptation for most people trying to lose weight. The fact is that while they seem to be dry and crispy, they are loaded with oil and with each munch, you are negating every second of time you spent on the treadmill this morning.

4 Soda

It is estimated that there are over 25 spoons of sugar in one soda can. It is by far the most fattening snack around and no one realizes just how much damage they are doing to themselves by drinking a soda. If you just cannot give up your soda, move to the diet ones, but the best thing is to give it up entirely.

5 Cold Coffees

Thanks to the birth of Starbucks and popularity of Friends, all of us like sitting in a coffee shop sipping delectable drinks not quite realizing just how much we are packing on with each sip. Cold coffees are the most deadly. They are loaded with cream and sugar, most of which you can’t see. You don’t have to give up your visits to the local café. Just cut them down a little and ensure you order only espresso.

6 Doughnuts

Doughnuts are a popular snack not just for policemen, but literally everyone. How many times have you found yourself munching on a chocolate glazed doughnut after lunch? This is one snack that has to be avoided. Store bought doughnuts are filled with sugars, flour, butter and other weight gaining components.

7 Cookies

What harm can a little cookie do for a weight loss plan? Loads!! Do not underestimate how much sugar and butter exists in one little chocolate chip cookie. It’s not a good idea particularly when you are trying to lose weight.

Keeping up the weight loss New Year resolution requires determination and commitment. Before all that it demands a change in your lifestyle. Giving up these seven snacks can get you well on your way to achieving your goals.
