Having healthy habits is something to be very proud of. For most people developing these healthy habits takes both time and dedication. We tend to spend so much of our energy trying to break our bad habits that we have, we tend to overlook the good ones. You may even be surprised by the number of good habits you currently have.

1 Drinking Water
Drinking a lot of water is one of the best healthy habits to have. Water hydrates us and helps rid our bodies of toxins. It also helps improve the texture and appearance of your skin. If you're currently trying to lose weight, water is one of the best weight loss tools that you can have. It helps fight hunger and aids the digestion process.
I really try hard to take care of my teeth, but every time I visit my dentist he tells me that I need to floss more. I have to admit that he is right. Flossing regularly can help prevent cavities and gum disease. If left untreated, gum disease can lead to tooth loss and increase your chances of developing heart disease or diabetes.
There are many benefits of exercising on a regular basis. Even if you don't have a lot of time, doing a 20 minute workout is very beneficial. If you can't seem to find a workout that you like and are able to stick with, look for fun ways to get exercise. Perhaps, you could join a bowling league or exercise class. If you enjoy being outside, schedule time to go for walks or do some gardening.
4 Getting Enough Sleep
For many years I neglected to get enough sleep. I thought that 4 or 5 hours each night paired with tons of caffeine was enough. I know see that I was very wrong. The fact is that our bodies need sleep. Even though you may not realize it at the time, when you don't get enough sleep you don't function properly. Getting enough sleep also helps prevent illnesses such as colds and flu. I am not someone who naps often, but if you're not getting enough rest at night, perhaps you could squeeze in a quick nap during the day.
5 Taking Care of Your Physical and Mental Health
I'll admit that I could do better about taking care of my physical health. I really don't like to go the doctor and tend to only go when I absolutely have to. Taking care of your mental health is also very important. If you tend to stay stressed out, look for relation techniques to help cope. It's also important to take some time for yourself and enjoy something like a bubble bath or a good book. Taking the time to care for your mental health will make you a much happier and relaxed person.
6 Taking Care of Your Skin
Regardless of your age, it's important to take care of your skin. This includes wearing sunscreen every time you go outdoors and reapplying it often. You should also avoid tanning beds because they age your skin and cause skin cancer. Removing your makeup before bed and applying a good moisturizer is also an essential part of taking care of your skin. If you're a smoker you should try hard to quit. Smoking ages you and rids your skin of its natural glow.
7 Wearing Your Seat Belt
Did you know that about 30% of people still neglect to wear their seat belts? When I read this statistic, I was absolutely shocked. Many locations still don't have seat belt laws. If you are among the 30% who doesn't wear their seat belt, you should start right now. The truth is that wearing your seat belt could save your life. If you tend to forget, try to get in the habit of putting on your seat belt before the car starts.
